Sticky Floor, Liverpool’s premier purveyors of improvised comedy were formed in 2007 by a group of guys and girls with far too much time on their hands. Since that moment they have been entertaining audiences with their unique brand of quick fire no messing improvised comedy. Performing both long and short from improvised comedy they have won over the laughter and the hearts of thousands of people in Liverpool and across the UK.
As well as performing regular fortnightly shows they also hold workshops aimed at introducing people to the concept of Improv as well as nurturing any new talent.
Q. Why the name Sticky Floor?
A. The initial Sticky Floor shows took place in Liverpool University’s Mandela bar, a venue that probably had not been cleaned since its inception. The floor there made walking particularly difficult and the group was inspired to start each show with a sketch about a sticky floor. The name just stuck and in years to come quizzes around the country will ask “Just what does Nelson Mandela have to do with an improv group from Liverpool?”
